No After For X-FILES Creator Chris Carter’s New Series THE AFTER After All!!

I am – Hercules!!

Amazon has mysteriously changed its mind about taking to series “The After,” the latest from “X-Files” mastermind Chris Carter.

The pilot, which stars Jamie Kennedy, Sharon Lawrence and Adrian Pasdar, deals with eight people coping with a modern-day apocalypse.

That pilot was released to the Internet last February and Amazon announced it was takijng the project to series the following month.

On Monday, nearly a year later, Amazon released a statement indicating it would make no more “After” beyond its pilot.

Since the 2002 cancellation of “X-Files” not much has been seen of Carter’s work aside from the 2008 “The X-Files: I Want To Believe” movie sequel he wrote and directed. That movie garnered positive reviews from Roger Ebert and Richard Roeper but only 31% positive reviews from the 36 “top critics” polled by the Rotten Tomatoes site.

In 2008 Carter wrote and directed a motion picture titled “Fencewalker” which starred Natalie Dormer (who went on to play Margaery Tyrell on “Game of Thrones”), Katie Cassidy (who went on to play Black Canary on “Arrow”) Mehcad Brooks (who went on to play Eggs on “True Blood”) “Pimp My Ride” host Xzibit (who went on to play Big Fate in “Bad Lieutenant POCNO”) and Derek Magyar (who went on to play Officer Phillips on “The Cape”). “Fencewalker” was shot but never picked up by a distributor, and all references to it have been wiped from IMDb.

The last Carter-created pilot to go to series was 2001’s “The Lone Gunman.” Carter also co-created the Fox series “Millennium” and “Harsh Realm.”
