Under normal circumstances, I’d be quick to dismiss the image below and the insinuation which comes with it. But since it comes from Vin Diesel, it may (and I emphasize ‘may’) well be worthy of note.
Over the years, Vin has shrewdly, smartly, and adeptly used his Facebook stream to tease and portend information - sometimes directly and at unexpected times (stopping in the middle of a carefree solo singing/dancing selfie video to announce more RIDDICK movies are on the way), sometimes obliquely (to followers of his Facebook page, it was pretty clear that Diesel was involved with GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY quite a while before an official announcement was made).
Now comes this image, posted HERE.
Happenstance? In any other case, I’d say ‘probably.’ In Diesel’s case? What is said, and isn’t said, often have equal meanings. So…
Does this mean Diesel may be involved with the recently announced 2018 big screen adaptation of Marvel’s INHUMAN comics? If so, this would follow a similar pattern to Paul Bettany, who voices Tony Stark’s ‘Jarvis’ AI in the IRON MAN and AVENGERS films (and will presumably continue to do so), but is also appearing as The Vision in this Summer’s AGE OF ULTRON release.
A few years go, Bettany went on record as saying he hadn’t seen any of the Marvel movies (and many of the other films) he’s been involved in. Wonder if he got caught up when prepping for The Vision? Or, is he so brilliant (and I mean this genuinely - I believe he’s amazing) that he doesn’t even need such context or perspective to realize his character.
AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON release May 1, 2015. The INHUMANS movie, with or without Vin, is currently set for November 2, 2018.
