A trailer has been released for Peter Strickland's THE DUKE OF BURGUNDY, and I am all in. I was a huge fan of his BERBERIAN SOUND STUDIO, completely enraptured by the hypnotic, unsettling quality of it as he explored and mastered the use of sound in film.
His latest feature, THE DUKE OF BURGUNDY tells story of a BDSM relationship between a woman who studies butterflies and her domestic servant. It has been highly praised on the festival circuit for a number of reasons, including the gorgeous visual style, and the way the relationship is handled and expressed.
If the trailer is any indication, this is a film to dive completely into. Tense, seductive, haunting - I can't wait to check this one out when it opens on January 23rd. What do you guys think?
