Here it is, our first official look at Guillermo Del Toro's next via this still of Jessica Chastain's character.
The Academy Award-nominee plays half of a brother-sister duo, alongside Charlie Hunnam, who encounter Mia Wasikowska and Tom Hiddleston's central couple when they move into a Northern England mansion. While details are sketchy, it's safe to say that Chastain's character is more than mere background, given the stills we saw of her getting plaster casted for makeup effects.
The pic looks as gotchic, contrasty, and moody as one would hope, and just seeing Chastain without her requisite red hair is striking on its own (my favorite Chastain look to date is in the GDT-produced MAMA, so this is right up my alley). Looking forward to seeing more of this film, be it via stills or eventually a trailer.

In the aftermath of a family tragedy, an aspiring author is torn between love for her childhood friend and the temptation of a mysterious outsider. Trying to escape the ghosts of her past, she is swept away to a house that breathes, bleeds…and remembers.
