The ROCKY spin-off CREED has added a new cast member. Deadline announced that Tessa Thompson has joined stars Michael B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallone on the production.
If you haven't heard, the film will star Jordan as the grandson of Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers), who turns to legendary boxer Rocky Balboa to train him to follow in his grandfather's footsteps.
The film will reunite Jordan with director Ryan Coogler; the pair last worked together on the powerful FRUITVALE STATION. Thompson turned in a fantastic performance earlier this year in Justin Simien's DEAR WHITE PEOPLE, and also has a role in the much talked-about SELMA, which will be hitting theaters in January.
No word on what her role in CREED will be, but given her recent body of work, she will definitely be a welcome addition to an already strong cast.
