Hey folks, Harry here...
I'm afraid there's little to no hope of a standby admission this year. There's always a wild chance that people I've no concept of canceling will simply not show up and by the greater grace of chance... an outside wildy lucky break might allow someone in... But from my vantage point right now. I don't see it happening. But, I am telling you out right. IF there is even the slightest fucking chance... I'm talking... Do you believe in miracles? Do you have an understanding with GOD? This might be the time and place to call in that special favor with George Burns and have him miracle your ass into a seat. So say your prayers and get to the Drafthouse early. If so... Man, it'll be a helluva thing.
Now, if you've been reading AICN over the past 15 years, you know that before I go to sleep the eve before BUTT-NUMB-A-THON, I traditionally post a list of MOVIES THAT ARE NOT PLAYING BUTT-NUMB-A-THON, but... because I love to tease... I will give you a shot. Very few people have ever even gotten more than just a couple correct on any given year and that's because it's not necessarily meant to be anything close... BUT... in my crazy mixed up movie mind, the shit just makes perfectly obvious and logical sense. If you do get all the titles right... That shit would just stun me. Seriously. Wow. I don't explain the list... but over the years, BNATTERS have stared and had hopes and dreams for what the various titles could mean.
Usually I'd break it down to NEW & OLD Films for ya... But there's one film this year that is kinda both. So it makes it difficult for me to say if it is 7&5 or 6&6. BUT... I feel very confident that this year will start with a roar that the audience will feel through to the very end. Me, I can't wake up and see this first film and every film that follows until we leave that theater some time after 2:30pm tomorrow.
