Simon Pegg runs around the Australian coast as a beleaguered hitman in this trailer for KILL ME THREE TIMES!

The first international trailer has premiered for the Aussie-fried crime story, KILL ME THREE TIMES, and unsurprisingly, it's all about Simon Pegg. Pegg is only one of the handful of core characters in this yarn about a criss-crossing pair of attempted murders, but the trailer (and perhaps the film itself) have been framed around his fish-out-of-water hitman.

The trailer suggests a much flashier affair than the film actually provides, seeming way more like post-Tarantino, Guy Ritchie-esque craziness than the low-key comic-noir that it is. Pegg's character is, indeed, hilarious in a black comedy sort of way, but Alice Braga's sad, desperate lounge singer is more crucial to the narrative. Sullivan Stapleton and Teresa Palmer's characters (an indebted dentist and his wife/assistant, respectively) are also more central than they appear here. There are gunshots, stabbings, and explosions, to be sure, just not as many as the trailer suggests. Still, this is a great way to sell what I had dismissed as an uncommercial curiosity for noir (and Pegg) fans, and does highlight the best thing about it…Pegg.

And yes, Bryan Brown has as much fun as the dirty cop as those brief glimpses suggest.

What you guys think? Doe the idea of the former Shaun (and current Scotty) killing folks with a handlebar mustache make you want to run out and check this one out?
