Written and directed by Sara Colangelo, LITTLE ACCIDENTS stars Elizabeth Banks as a mother dealing with the sudden, unexplained disappearance of her teenage son, set against the fallout of a tragic mining accident in their community.
When a teenage boy goes missing in a small town already devastated by a fatal mining accident, three strangers find themselves drawn together in a tangle of secrets, lies, and the collective grief of the community. Reeling from the disappearance of her son, Diane (Elizabeth Banks) finds herself drifting away from her husband (Josh Lucas), a mining company executive whose role in the accident has made her family the prime target for the town’s anger. When she forms a dangerous bond with the sole survivor of the disaster (Boyd Holbrook), truths will be uncovered that threaten to tear apart the few remaining threads holding the town together in this intense drama from writer-director Sara Colangelo.
It looks like an interesting story, with the focus split between the emotional element concerning a mother trying to find her missing child, and the lies and intrigue brought about as the community tries to uncover the truth about the nature of the accident.
The film co-stars Boyd Holbrook, Josh Lucas, Chloe Sevingy and Jacob Lofland, who made his film debut in a supporting role in Jeff Nichols' MUD.
LITTLE ACCIDENTS hits theaters and VOD on January 16th. What do you guys think?
