Movie News

Today's just the day for comic book movie news I guess...now WONDER WOMAN has got a writer onboard!

One wonders whether this announcement from WB was a deliberate response to the plethora of Marvel news unleashed today…

Michelle MacLaren's Gal Gadot-starring WONDER WOMAN flick now has a writer onboard. Jason Fuchs is the lone credited screenwriter on PAN and co-wrote ICE AGE: CONTINENTAL DRIFT (he also played the young version of Jay Mohr's character in JANE AUSTEN'S MAFIA! as a child actor). He'll be working alongside MacClaren, who we were told would have a hand in "developing" the project.

The word on the street (and the stills we've seen) hasn't painted Joe Wright's PAN in a great light, but those savvy to Hollywood goings on know that that has very little bearing on the screenwriter's talents. Fuchs has a daunting task ahead of him in adapting WONDER WOMAN into WB's first major female-led comic book movie (let's all forget CATWOMAN for a quick sec please), and obviously we're all hoping he and MacClaren knock it out of the park.

Let's just hope people actually want to see this after Ms. Prince makes her big-screen debut in BATMAN V. SUPERMAN in 2016…

WONDER WOMAN jets into theaters on July 17th, 2017.
