In INTERSTELLAR, Team McConaughey finds the remnants of a previous exploratory expedition - specifically a surviving member named Dr. Mann, played by Matt Damon.
Wired is now featuring a 7 page prequel comic penned by Christopher Nolan, looking deeper into Damon’s “Mann” character by way of a short prequel to INTERSTELLAR’s events.

Personally, I’d rather have seen a prequel following a day in the life of TARS - the hero expedition’s robot sidekick. Which, for some inexplicable reason, reminded this guy:
