Fede Alvarez and Sam Raimi are set to reteam on a new original horror film entitled A MAN IN THE DARK, according to Variety. Alvarez wrote the screenplay and Sony has acquired it with Raimi and his Ghosthouse production company set to produce the film, which Alvarez will direct.
The plot is described as:
"Story follows a group of teens who break into a blind man’s home thinking they’ll get away with the perfect crime. They’re wrong."
Alvarez directed the EVIL DEAD remake for Raimi, which was a decent success for all involved. I enjoyed the remake when I saw it at a packed midnight show but I haven’t thought about it or had an urge to re-watch it since that time. I did think it was stylish and Alvarez showed a lot of talent and potential with the film so I am excited to see what he does with an original horror film.
