Are Al Pacino and Brian De Palma going to follow up SCARFACE and CARLITO'S WAY with RETRIBUTION?!

AreIn '83, Al Pacino and Brian De Palma made SCARFACE. In '93, they reteamed for CARLITO'S WAY. Now, in 2014, the pair is hoping to get lightning to strike for a third time, and are currently looking to get financing for a thriller titled RETRIBUTION.

The film's based on a 2003 Belgian film called THE MEMORY OF A KILLER, and pairs a cop and a hitman against a child prostitution ring in Philadelphia. No word on who Pacino would play, but I'm hoping he's up for one of the two central roles and not something like the police chief or a menacing heavy.

As someone who dug the nonsensical De Palma-ness of PASSION, I have faith that De Palma can use his former Tony Montana/Carlito Brigante to at least approximate the level of magic they achieved on their two previous films. I don't know much about THE MEMORY OF A KILLER, but if RETRIBUTION is able to get some financiers onboard (which is likely: it already looks like Relativity is interested), it'll be interesting to check that film out and guess what De Palma's take on the material will entail.

So what do you think is more likely? This third Pacino/De Palma movie, or the Pacino/De Niro/Pesci/Scorsese THE IRISHMAN??
