Behold A ‘Lost’ Music Track From John Carpenter - More Coming!!

John Carpenter's Lost Themes

Next year will see the release of a new album (or whatever they’re called now) filled with unused / “lost” themes by John Carpenter.

Carpenter, of course, famously composed the scores for a great many of his films.  Most notably, STARMAN and THE THING are not technically included on the roster - although his influence is strongly evident in both.

Some of his themes (HALLOWEEN) have become widely recognizable by the masses - perhaps even “iconic” - while many (ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK,  BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA) remain a substantial and vital component of the Geekscape to this day.

Carpenter briefly discussed the release at a recent 4K screening of HALLOWEEN, where he appeared with Jamie Lee Curtis.  But, as far as I know, this is our first sample of the upcoming “lost” Carpenter work, which was linked via his Twitter stream this morning.

You can find the sample HERE - it should auto-start when the page loads fully.  Pretty sure this track is on a loop.  Don’t make the mistake I made and sit there like a dumbfuck…for like a kajillion minutes…waiting for the track to conclude.  Cuz it probably ain’t gonna.

If memory serves, the lost scores project will arrive relatively early in 2015, so we don’t have too long to wait.  Enjoy, and…
