It appears that Seth Rogen is going to begin to follow some of his comedian colleagues into more serious dramatic projects, as according to The Wrap, he is in negotiations (or according to Variety has actually closed his deal) to play Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, opposite Christian Bale’s Steve Jobs in the upcoming biopic. Jessica Chastain is also reportedly being sought for an unidentified role. Aaron Sorkin is of course scripting the film, with Danny Boyle signed to direct the high profile project.
I actually think this is an excellent choice for Wozniak. While Christian Bale and Seth Rogen seem to be an odd couple at first, Rogen has proved with almost all of his co-stars that he is able to find chemistry with them. Add to that the Sorkin script, and the scenes with Bale and Rogen have the potential to be dynamite on screen. (Also worth noting that Rogen was terrific in a very dramatic role in the criminally under-seen, TAKE THIS WALTZ.)
As for Chastain, she is being recruited for almost every high profile dramatic project right now and for good reason. She has demonstrated the talent and ability to play almost any type of role and give an excellent performance.
This film is coming together very nicely and I can’t wait to see what this amount of talent is able to produce on screen.
