Marvel might have finally found their Doctor Strange!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Early on in my geekiness I got sucked into comic books via the X-Men and Spider-Man. I was essentially a Marvel kid from the get go, but Doctor Strange wasn't really on my radar at the beginning. In the late '80s and early '90s it was all about Spidey and the X-Men and not so much about Strange, but as I grew up and my tastes became broader I'd get more and more intrigued by this character.

I'm in no way an expert on the character, but he's definitely one that piques my interest, especially when we see how he's going to fit into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Over the last 12+ months we've seen just about every actor in Hollywood associated with this role. Remember when it was “for sure” Jon Hamm? The name I've liked the most associated with Strange was Oscar Isaac, but sadly that doesn't appear like it was meant to be if Deadline's new scoop is on the money (and I'm pretty sure it is).

They say a little known actor by the name of Benedict Cumberbatch is in negotiations to play Stephen Strange.

That is in no way final and Cumberbatch can always fall out (remember he was actually cast in Crimson Peak before dropping out), but it's more concrete than a list of people the studio is meeting with.

I personally think the casting is pretty right on the money. He's got the presence and let's face it... the dude's kinda weird anyway. Now let's see what he looks like with silver in his hair and a Van Dyke.

Thoughts?
