Key & Peele & KEANU...only Keanu's a cat!!

I don't know if you guys watch KEY & PEELE as much as I do, but the duo of Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele have been regularly nailing it on their weekly sketch show for the past 4 seasons. After spreading their wings on FARGO earlier this year, the two are ready to bring their collaborative energy to the big screen with a movie called, oddly enough, KEANU.

Keanu will start shooting in the Spring, and will be the first full-fledged KEY & PEELE flick to hit cinemas (though they still have that POLICE ACADEMY reboot and a Judd Apatow collab in the works). It will have the two playing a pair of friends whose beloved cat gets stolen by a street gang. To get their dear KEANU back, they go undercover as drug pushers and start plumbing the depths of the criminal underworld to find the hoods responsible.

Sounds pretty KEY & PEELE to me.

Peter Atencio, director of every ep of KEY & PEELE so far, will helm the two, which is great news. The guy has shown a remarkable versatility in crafting the wide range of moods and styles KEY & PEELE try and evoke in their spoofs. Watch the clips below for some examples of the visual flourishes he brings to the comedians' sketch work. If he, Key, and Peele can bring the magic they conjure up regularly for their weekly series, then this movie could potentially be one of the funniest, goofiest comedies to grace our multiplexes in quite some time.

KEANU's set to start shooting in April, which would make an early-to-mid-2016 release date probable.
