Last week revelations and incident made Frank Winter and implosion much more valuable to the U.S. atomic bomb program. This week we’ll get to see if they throw the janitors out of Winter’s lab or if they just give him Charlie Isaacs’.
My favorite segment from tonight’s “Treehouse of Horror” is the middle one, which starts out as a parody of “A Clockwork Orange” then spirals out to riff on all things Kubrick. Comic Book Guy got a big laugh out of me toward segment’s end. The third segment is less funny but still fun, as it has the 2014 version of the Simpsons stumble across the old “Tracey Ullman Show” version of the family from nearly three decades ago -- when Homer sounded much more like Walter Matthau.
“The Affair” holds up nicely in its second episode, a nice change given how awful the second episodes of so many new series turn out to be. We learn more about why the police are interviewing the Dominic West and Ruth Wilson characters, and see more aspects of the Josh Jackson character.

That 8.7 is a new personal best for “The Walking Dead.”
“Revenge,” which launched its second season with a 3.2 on Sept. 30, 2012, hit a new personal low last Sunday.
“Mulaney,” which had an order for 16 episodes, was about to shoot its 14th when Fox ordered production of the basement-dwelling sitcom to cease.
