Jai Courtney updates us on TERMINATOR: GENISYS! What will it be rated? Will Arnold be back for all three films in the new trilogy?

Hey Yo, Draven here.

In a couple of different interviews that Coming Soon has compiled, Jai Courtney has recently had a few interesting things to say about TERMINATOR: GENYSIS. First, he confirms that the structure of the new trilogy will be similar to the recent STAR TREK reboot series in that they will have a new timeline to do whatever they want with (probably using time travel):

"What I can say is that we start in a place we're familiar with from the early films and then, you know, circumstances change. It somewhat shifts the course of events from that point. It's not necessarily a sequel or a reboot. I don't even know how you brand it correctly. We're not remaking one of the early 'Terminator' movies. And it doesn't necessarily carry on from the point where we left off."

He also confirmed that they are shooting for a PG-13 which won’t contain any f-bombs but will contain lots of violence (that I am sure will be bloodless):

"I would love to see it be rated R, but I don't think it will. I think in this day & age, it's much more likely to be PG-13. There were no f-bombs. But there'll be a healthy amount of movie violence."

(Doesn’t that quote just perfectly exemplify the fucked up nature of our rating system and society in general?)

Finally, Jai Courtney confirmed that they are indeed shooting the last two films (as many assumed when the release dates were announced) in this new trilogy back-to-back in 2016, and Arnold Schwarzenegger will return for both of them:

"Hard to imagine a Terminator film without Arnold. I guess we start filming - I think the plan is do the next two back-to-back in 2016."

So none of this really pumps me up for this new trilogy. (How did PG-13 work out for TERMINATOR: SALVATION?) I do find the rumored time travel elements interesting and the cast is excellent, (minus Jai Courtney. What did he ever do to be in franchise films for two of the greatest 80's movies ever made?) but how is this film going to get any buzz generated for itself amongst casual movie fans inbetween AVENGERS 2 and STAR WARS: EPISODE VII?
