Victor Garber (who played Sidney Bristow's CIA dad on “Alias”) will recur on "The Flash" as Nobel-winning scientist Dr. Martin Stein, who in the March 1978 issue of DC Comics’ “Firestorm” was transformed by a nuclear accident into the title character, or at least half the title character.
In the CW’s new TV version of “The Flash,” the same supercollider accident not only created The Flash, The Weather Wizard, the Mirror Master and countless other supervillains, it also fused Stein with student Ronnie Raymond to create Firestorm.
(Maybe we’ll eventually find out the same accident created The Atom, Superman, Green Lantern and Wonder Woman too?)
In the comic books, The Flash and Firestorm served together in the Justice League of America.
