That Show You Like Has Come Back In Style!! Pay Cable Channel Showtime Orders Nine Episodes Of TWIN PEAKS From David Lynch And Mark Frost!!

I am – Hercules!!

“Twin Peaks,” the second-best television series ever forged by humans, is returning in 2016.

Showtime – a pay cable channel that can do things filmmakers can’t do in American cinemas – has ordered nine more episodes of “Twin Peaks,” which will be set more than two decades after FBI special agent Dale Cooper’s doppelganger began smashing his head into his mirror at the Great Northern Hotel.

Series creators David Lynch and Mark Frost will write all nine episodes.

Lynch will direct all nine episodes.

There’s no word as to which, if any, cast members from the original 1990-1991 series will return for the sequel series.

When ABC abruptly cancelled “Peaks” in 1991, it left a host of questions, few of which were answered by Lynch’s 1992 big-screen sequel “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me.”

The top of my wish list? All the FBI fellows we met in the series and the movie, particularly the ones played by Lynch, Kyle MacLachlan, David Bowie, Kiefer Sutherland, Chris Isaac, and Miguel Ferrer. (Maybe Lara Flynn Boyle will re-emerge as Special Agent Donna Hayward?)

For those unfamiliar, “Peaks” told the tale of a coffee-loving FBI man dispatched to rural Washington State to solve the murder of a beautiful and popular high-school student. It turns out there are supernatural aspects to the case.

It’s all much, much better than it sounds. “No. Uh-uh. It`s as dead as a doornail,” was how Lynch, now 68, responded in 2001 when Empire asked him if he would ever return to “Peaks.”
