Babak Najafi, whose movie SEBBE won ‘Best Debut Film’ at 2010’s Berlin International Film Festival…who also won the Short Film Award at the Goteborg Film Festival in 2013 for GABRIEL OCH LASERMANNEN…will helm LONDON HAS FALLEN. This is the follow-up to 2013’s Antoine Fuqua directed OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN.
Najafi also directed 2012’s EASY MONEY II, starring Joel Kinnaman from TV’s THE KILLING and the recent ROBOCOP remake.
SNABBA CASH II. That’s a badass title right there. A title which almost sounds like a SESAME STREET parody, although the film itself looks like it could be rather interesting.
Najafi is stepping into a position vacated by Fredrik Bond, who recently left the project due to ‘creative differences.’ OLYMPUS leads Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart, Morgan Freeman, Angela Bassett, and Melissa Leo are all expected to return for the sequel. It’ll film in two chunks, wrapping around Butler’s commitment to GEOSTORM, a sci-fi thriller from writer/producer/director Dean Devlin. Yeah, that Dean Devlin!
