The big news?
This second episode isn’t nearly as good as last week’s pilot. Particularly galling when one considers Heller wrote it himself.
What else is Fox not telling us?
Shades of Paul Reubenfeld! Pay attention to the name of Carol Kane’s character. While “Penguin” isn’t Cobblepot’s real name, neither is “Cobblepot.” Also? We learn Fish has hired an all-female punk band to entertain her customers.
What’s good?
Barbara Kean’s legs. “I salute his service.” “Thank you for being honest.” “Hang on.”
What’s not so good?
There’s a lot of scenery chewing in this series, but I think Jada Pinkett Smith might think she’s channeling Eartha Kitt from the 1966 “Batman.” I'm hopeful producers are only permitting this because The Penguin will murder her sooner rather than later.
How does it end, spoiler boy?
