A new trailer has surfaced for PREDESTINATION, the upcoming time travel thriller starring Ethan Hawke, and it looks pretty damn interesting. The film is the latest from the Spierig Brothers, who last directed Hawke in the vampire thriller DAYBREAKERS.
Here, Hawke plays a Temporal Agent who has spent his career jumping though time on a series missions to stop crimes before they are actually committed.
This trailer doesn't give us a ton of info about the plot, but rather chooses to keep the story details wrapped in the many complex layers that inherently come with the territory of a time travel story. Nothing is as it seems and characters and events never relate to one another the way you initially think they will.
The film is based on the short story, "All You Zombies" by sci-fi writer Robert A. Heinlein. It looks like it could be fun, and the Spierigs know how to tell an interesting story. DAYBREAKERS wasn't perfect, but I did like the direction they went with it. I was also a fan of their 2002 film, UNDEAD. We'll see just what secrets PREDESTINATION holds when it opens early next year.
