If you're not yet excited about having the crap scared out of you by Jennifer Kent's THE BABADOOK, now is the time to start.
The film played Fantastic Fest this week to tons of acclaim, cheers and shrieks, taking home awards for Best Horror Film, Best Screenplay (Kent), Best Actor (Noah Wiseman) and Best Actress (Essie Davis). All are deserved, as THE BABADOOK is one of the most complex, emotionally-charged and frightening films you are going to see this year.
In fact, you will have the chance to see in in just a couple months, when the film hits theaters and VOD on November 28th.
THE BABADOOK tells the story of a single, stressed out mother (Essie Davis) who is trying desperately to keep it together as her son (Noah Wiseman) is going through some pretty serious behavioral problems. When a midnight reading of a creepy pop-up storybook called Mr. Babadook goes wrong, a dark and mysterious presance begins to invade their lives.
