Learn Which Of Vince Vaughn's Movie Co-Stars Is Probably Reuniting With Him For HBO's TRUE DETECTIVE 2.0!!

I am – Hercules!!

Rachel McAdams’ “scheduling conflict” has been downgraded to a “potential scheduling conflict,” and it now looks like she’ll be playing lead female character Ani Bezzirides in the upcoming second season of “True Detective.” HBO and the actress’ representatives are said to be currently ironing out details for the role of a tough Monterey sheriff.

The dreamy McAdams reunites with her “Wedding Crashers” co-star Vince Vaughn, who (in a part written for him) plays a career criminal whose efforts to go straight are compromised by a friend's murder.

McAdams played the wife of time travelers in both “About Time” and the unrelated “Time Traveler’s Wife.” Her other credits include “The Hot Chick,” “Mean Girls,” “The Notebook,” “Red Eye,” “State Of Play,” “Morning Glory,” “Midnight in Paris,” “The Vow,” “To The Wonder” and both Robert Downey Jr. “Sherlock Holmes” movies.

The only key creative force back from season one is Nick Pizzolatto, who wrote all episodes of the first season. Justin Lin (“Furious 6,” “Scorpion”) directs season two’s first two episodes. Colin Farrell (“Total Recall,” “Saving Mr. Banks”) is confirmed to play a compromised cop in season two. Taylor Kitsch (“John Carter,” “Battleship”) has long been expected to play a cop in the new season as well.
