Here’s a fresh look at STAR WARS REBELS, the new animated series set between movie installments #3 and #4.
There are constant rumors/indicators that this series might help set-up J.J.’s STAR WARS EPISODE VII, although, to the best of my knowledge, not a single one of said rumors/indications have actually been confirmed.
This said, my understanding is that Abrams is hugely interested in trans-media storytelling, so E7 drawing…something…from this show doesn’t seem too far of a stretch. If this is correct it also means that THE STAR WARS HOLIDAY SPECIAL might someday be re-canonized, and Uncle Itchy will at last have his day! There is hope for the future. Is Jefferson Starship still recording?
REBELS arrives late this month via Disney XD’s iPad app, and formally make sits way to television early October.
