I know that the reviews have been divisive on this, and that COSMOPOLIS, although enjoyable, was an inscrutable exercise in pretension, but aren't you excited for Cronenberg's latest?
The cast (yes, even the ROVER-proven Pattinson) is top-notch, and lord knows the Hollywood scene is depraved enough to warrant Cronenberg's merciless, unrelenting gaze. The things these actresses go through, particularly the older ones, is as horrifying and troubling as anything in VIDEODROME, and I can't wait to see the director take on the system that he's been excluded from (whether deliberately or otherwise) for his 45+ year career.
Part of me is like dead sure that shot of Wasikowska in leather gloves at 1:47 is a huge, huge spoiler, but another part of me is like, "Hey man, Cronenberg. Assume nothing."
