Trailer for Documentary VIRUNGA!

Hey guys! Horrorella here...

A trailer has been released for a documentary that has earned quite a bit of praise on the festival circuit, and will be premiering on Netflix later this fall. VIRUNGA tells the story of a group of park rangers struggling to keep Virunga National Park a safehaven for the remaining few mountain gorillas that live there, standing against the never-ending presance of poachers and the oil industry.

It looks like a fascinating examination on a seemingly endless struggle as the modern world continues to swell, eating up the remaining bits of the natural world that surrounds it. It will be available on Netflx starting November 7th.

Feature-length documentary VIRUNGA follows an embattled team of park rangers at Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Africa’s oldest national park and home to the last of the planet’s 800 mountain gorillas, as they work to fend off encroaching forces of industry, poaching, corruption and war. The award-winning film debuted at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival, earning a nomination as Best Documentary Feature, and was named Audience Favorite at Hot Docs Film Festival and Best of Fest at AFI Docs, among other awards.

First-time feature documentary director Orlando von Einseidel has crafted an acclaimed film of rare beauty and raw power that combines investigative journalism, a nature documentary and verite filmmaking.

VIRUNGA premieres on Friday, November 7 in theaters in New York and Los Angeles and on Netflix in all territories where Netflix is available.
