“The Walking Dead” is America’s most popular TV series, and AMC has chosen the showrunners for its spin-off, which will follow a different set of survivors struggling through the zombie apocalypse.
Dave Erickson, who wrote six episodes of “Canterbury’s Law,” 17 episodes of “Sons of Anarchy” and two episodes of AMC’s “Low Winter Sun,” will serve as “Walking Dead II’s” chief creative force alongside Robert Kirkman, a “Walking Dead” writer who also created the comic book on which the series is based.
AMC just greenlit the their pilot, which is expected to feature far fewer Englishmen faking Southern accents.
Season five of “The Walking Dead” launches Oct. 12.
