A new trailer for FOXCATCHER has arrived, highlighting what is likely going to be the most intense, unsettling performance we have seen from Steve Carell to date.
Here, he plays millionaire John du Pont, who set out to train a team of wrestlers in the hopes of capturing Gold in the 1988 Olympics. His eye is particularly caught by the talents of Mark Schultz (Channing Tatum) and his champion brother Dave (Mark Ruffalo), and the three form an interesting, yet destructive relationship.
Even in this short clip, you can see just how different of a role this is for Carell. There is absolutely nothing funny, charming or endearing about this character. He displays a level of maliciousness that you never would have associated with this actor, and it looks like it's going to be a hell of a performance.
