Jack O'Connell's star is certainly on the rise. In addition to roles in STARRED UP and Angelina Jolie's highly-anticipated UNBROKEN later this year, he is also starring in '71. The story is set in Belfast, during the height of The Troubles. As the conflict rages, O'Connell plays a British soldier who gets separated from his unit one night, and is forced to make his way back home through some intensely hostile territory.
The footage shown here paints it as a tense, fast-paced thriller. The film garnered high acclaim at the Berlin Film Festival, with particular praise given to O'Connell's performance.
Unfortunately, the film doesn't have a U.S. release date yet, but is due out in the U.K. on October 10th.
