Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg to Re-Team on New Film!

Hey guys! Horrorella here...

THE WORLD’S END may have signaled the end of The Cornetto Trilogy, but thankfully, that doesn’t mean the fun is over for Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg. During a recent interview with BBC 6 Music (via Digital Spy), Pegg mentioned that the duo is currently working on a new collaboration.

"Edgar and I were having a conversation the other day about it, and it has a ittle and everything...We're kind of in a creative cycle now."

The new mystery project probably won’t be happening any time soon, as Wright will likely be shooting BABY DRIVER next and Pegg has a long list of projects lined up as well.

"We've all got different things [going] on and we know we have to get those things done. The coming-together thing is without question on the table and will happen when we can do it."

Pegg also indicated that this story will probably not follow the same lines as the Cornetto films.

"When we said the trilogy was over, it was because that group of films was over. They’re all kind of related with each other and deal with a specific idea. There is a criteria to those films.

The next thing we do won’t do that. It will just be something else.”

It is certainly happy news, but it is also not terribly shocking. Pegg and Wright had a history together in television with Asylum and Spaced before SHAUN OF THE DEAD was even on the radar, so it makes perfect sense that they would reunite again once the Cornetto Trilogy was completed. They are a fantastic team and work tremendously well together, so it’s no big surprise that they would find additional projects to work on together. But it is definitely something to look foward to.
