The “Extant” finale was originally going to follow the premiere of “Survivor,” but “Extant” has fared so poorly CBS decided to expand the “Survivor” premiere to 90 minutes and extend the current “Big Brother” season. Now the BB finale will be broadcast after the “Survivor” premiere (a time-tested strategy for the network).
For the second Wednesday in a row, “Big Brother” beat that other summertime titan, the Howard Stern-infused “America’s Got Talent.”
