To herald this weekend’s arrival of the Michael Bay produced, Jonathan Liebesman directed TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES movie, The Powers That Be have released an official music video for the film. Presumably intended to more fully promote the feature, I suspect the opposite effect will be netted presuming viewers off this piece are 1) sober, 2) can see, or 3) can hear.
This comes to us via MTV, and is from a group called Pentatonix (isn’t that a brand of tampon?). I’m gathering they’re going for a retro/throwback vibe here…I guess. And, admittedly, there is a ‘good, old-fashioned’ approach to the video being demonstrated. But…damn…I'm not sensing how either the music or performance here will help the film's case at all.
