Oscar Isaac (“Inside Llewyn Davis,” “Star Wars: Episode VII”) will star in “Show Me A Hero” as Nick Wasicsko, the real-life 28-year-old mayor of Yonkers, N.Y., who saw his political career derailed after he was forced by a federal court to build low-income housing in his city’s whitest neighborhoods.

Catherine Keener (“Captain Phillips,” “Bad Grandpa”) plays the leader of an East Yonkers homeowners association whose views on the project change radically once she gets to know its prospective tenants.

The six-hour miniseries just greenlit by HBO is based on the book by Lisa Belkin and will be co-scripted by writer-producer David Simon, who masterminded numerous other projects for the channel, including “The Wire,” “Treme” and two other miniseries: “The Block” and “Generation Kill.”
