International Trailer and Clip for Australian Horror Film THE BABADOOK!

Hey guys! Horrorella here...

Horror fans definitely have something to look forward with in THE BABADOOK. The film played to rave reviews earlier this year at Sundance, I loved it when I saw it at the Seattle International Film Festival, and the U.K. will finally get the opportunity to check it out when it plays Film4 FrightFest in August, prior to its newly-announced release date of October 24th. The U.S. sadly, does not yet have a release date, which really sucks, considering how awesome the film is. Hopefully, we'll be seeing it later this fall.

Six years after the violent death of her husband, Amelia (Essie Davis) is at a loss. She struggles to discipline her ‘out of control’ 6-year-old, Samuel (Noah Wiseman), a son she finds impossible to love. Samuel’s dreams are plagued by a sinister monster he believes is coming to kill them both.

When a disturbing storybook called ‘The Babadook’ turns up at their house, Samuel is convinced that ‘The Babadook’ is the creature he’s been dreaming about. His hallucinations spiral out of control and as he becomes more unpredictable and violent, Amelia is genuinely frightened by her son’s behaviour.

But when Amelia begins to see glimpses of a sinister presence all around her, it slowly dawns on her that the thing Samuel has been warning her about may be real.

THE BABADOOK will also open in France tomorrow, which is great, since it has given us a new clip to check out. Here, we see the arrival of the Mister Babadook storybook. The pictures in the book are plenty creepy and wonderfully set the stage for what is to come.
