SDCC 2014: Ambush Bug alerts fans of comics and horror to stay late tonight at the con for 2 special panels: his panel “Reinventing Horror” and Black Mask Studios panel!

Hey folks, Ambush Bug here from San Diego Comic Con. I wanted to throw the word out there about a pair of panels you might be interested in attending if you’re lucky enough to attend the con. If you’re not, I’m going to do my best to bring the experiences back to you guys either through video, audio, or simply the old fashioned way with words and such.

The first panel takes place tonight at the con at 7:00pm. I’ll be hosting my annual horror panel, this year titled “Reinventing Horror” with guests such as writer Joshua Hale Fialkov (THE LIFE AFTER, THE DEVILERS, TUMOR, I, VAMPIRE), writer/director Zack Parker (PROXY, SCALENE), publisher of Black Mask Studios and writer Matt Pizzolo (GODKILLER, YOUNG TERRORISTS, OCCUPY COMICS), writer Brandon Seifert (WITCH DOCTOR, WALT DISNEY’S SEEKERS OF THE WEIRD), and myself who most of you know, have edited AICN COMICS and AICN HORROR for over a decade at Ain’t It Cool as well as dipped my toe into the writing pool with comics such as NANNY & HANK, THE JUNGLE BOOK, LUNA: ORDER OF THE WEREWOLF, THE TINGLERS, and the newly announced circus horror comic PIROUETTE. Please join us tonight at 7:00pm in Room 5AB for an always fun discussion on all things horror.

Directly after that, I’ll be shooting over to the Black Mask Studios panel at 8:30pm in Room 8 and joining publishers Matt Pizzolo & Steve Niles to talk about their new line of comics with other creators such as writer Patrick Meaney (THE LAST BORN, a Morrisonian sci fi epic set on a dying Earth), writer Matt Rosenberg (12 REASON TO DIE which adapted Ghostface Killah’s recent album of the same name) , artist Amancay Nahuelpan-Bustamante (YOUNG TERRORISTS), and myself who wrote the clown horror comic PIROUETTE (available to order now in previews—item code JUL14 0937)! There may be more special guests joining this panel as well!

Stay late tonight at the con and join me in talking about horror and comics!
