Elle Fanning to Star in Film Adaptation of Neil Gaiman's HOW TO TALK TO GIRLS AT PARTIES!

Hey guys! Horrorella here...

THR is reporting that Elle Fanning, fresh off MALEFICENT, is set to star in an adaptation of Neil Gaiman's short story, How to Talk to Girls at Parties.

The story centers on a pair of teen boys in the 1970's who go to a party in London. One begins flirting with a girl rather quickly, leaving the shy one alone. It isn't long before our hero discovers that the girls at this party are not what they appear to be.

The film is being directed by John Cameron Mitchell (HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH, RABBIT HOLE), from a script that he co-wrote with Philippa Goslett (LITTLE ASHES). Gaiman is on board as a producer.

A Gaiman story with John Cameron Mitchell behind the camera is an interesting concept, and one that I would love to see play out. Gaiman's work carries a wonderful emotional complexity to it, which is something that Mitchell definitley proved himself capable of capturing with his work on RABBIT HOLE.

How to Talk to Girls at Parties is a Gaiman piece that haven't read yet - do you guys think it would translate well to a film?
