Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with some good news for Pacific Rim fans, courtesy of Mr. Guillermo del Toro himself. I'll let the man give you the good news:
Foreign box office was super strong for Pacific Rim and I know both Guillermo and Legendary head honcho Thomas Tull are in love with the universe, so I'm not as shocked as most about the news that they're continuing the films and expanded universe stuff.
The Wrap adds that Universal is officially taking over the franchise from WB and that the Guillermo del Toro directed sequel is scheduled to hit theaters April 7, 2017.
So, it's a celebration! The introductions are over, now it's time to see top to bottom full blown Kaiju/Mech spectacular!
