If you are unfamiliar with the British comedy series THE INBETWEENERS, I pity you. I really do. The high school adventures (and disasters) of Will, Simon, Jay and Neil have made me laugh so hard I couldn’t breathe. The characters are awesome, the humor is ridiculous and the situations they find themselves in, while absurd and laughable, ring true and are absolutely relatable.
The series ran for 3 seasons (all of which can be found on Netflix, so I suggest you get on it), before the gang embarked on a post high-school Greek vacation in THE INBETWEENERS MOVIE in 2011. Now, we'll be catching up with them one more time as they head to Australia in THE INBETWEENERS 2.
With any series, I am always a little worried that the latest installment will be the one that pushes it over the edge into the unfunny, played-out territory, and I hope that doesn’t happen. But despite any hesitation, I am more than excited to catch up with the guys again and see how they have been dealing (or probably not dealing) with adult life. From what we see here, this new film could be a lot of fun.
Check out the trailer below (WARNING- NSFW). The film is set to open in the U.K. on August 6th. No U.S. release date has been announced yet, but hopefully we will be seeing it before too long.
