New MONSTERS INC Image... yea! Happy days... woo hoo!!!

Published at:  Aug 24, 2000 6:28:41 PM CDT

Folks... want a way better shot of the big goofy furry looking monster from MONSTERS INC from PIXAR? Well then... look no further than this image which I received from an animation insider... or so I was told... Notice how fine the hair work is... and ya know what... I think this rocks.... PIXAR rules the known universe.... Made two of the top five films of the 90's in my list (which you'll never see so I can conveniently claim things in that top ten and you folks will never keep track... muhahahhahahahaaaa) Anyway... check it out and rave or be banned!!!

    Pretty cool

    by znosaro

Hope the movie is good. This is short. Which you may interpret as my pathetic desire to be first. But really... what more can you say?

    That's a nice blue wampa!

    by jalora

Pixar continues to impress. Any word on if we'll be seeing any famous movie monsters in the film? I'd love to see Pixar's take on Frankenstein or Dracula...

Also, does anyone know the name of this character and who will be doing the voice (let's hope it's Goodman).

    nifty ..

    by module

what a wonderfully expressive character design .. kids will eat this guy up .. and i think that he's kinda' fun with a face that looks like it can reach all sorts of emotive ends.. the hair looks great, but the question is how they'll get it to all move naturally on screen .. well .. good good ..

What Ever Happened to the Ron Howard Adaptation of Where the Wil

    by iamgladiator

I heard about that a while back and was looking foward to that, and I know he's working on The Grinch, but this photo just brought that book to my head, and now I'm wonderin' if that book to movie will ever come to pass.

    Harry?

    by jharmon

Is it just me, or does that thing look curiously like Harry? I think Pixar is giving him a thank-you for the great reviews...

    This is cool. However.

    by studio lackey

Don't get me wrong, I love Pixar and all its works, but how about doing something that isn't about a group of cute somethings doing cute things while on a cute adventure? It's getting predictable. I mean, gee, do you think maybe there will be a snarky, sarcastic monster, a timid monster, etc. etc. etc.? Do you suppose the script will include sly pop culture references and an uplifting theme about the enduring quality of love and the human heart? Will the characters be chased at some point? Hey, I loved Toy Story and Toy Story 2, but it's getting to the point where I feel like I'm obligated to ooh and aah at what is basically a retread -- albeit a well-done, spectacular retread -- of things we've seen before.

    by rushmorerulz

When I heard about this movie awhile back I said to myself that I've heard this plot before. Its the Fred Savage movie "Little Monsters."

    by piratedtv

Add John Goodman's voice to this character. I'm in heaven. Simply. Now if only Pixar would team up with the guys from Aardman Animation!

BTW This is my last post under this call sign. I will now be known as LSD2K

"folks will never keep track","rave or be banned" ???

    by saluki

You are going down Knowles!! Down down down, Harry going down! Anyways, nothing new from the last picture, but Goodman couldn't produce a bad performance even if he tried so I am there opening day.

Where's the rest of the picture?!

    by spongebob

Hey, the "source" cut out the rest of the picture - the part with that little one-eyed guy voiced by Billy Crystal. it was in Time magazine last week (p.71) with a 3 paragraph blurb... looks good though.

    I agree!

    by monkey lord

John Goodman is the frickin' man. He's one of those actors that happens to be so genuine and so 'real'...and he's genuinely funny to boot. His sense of humor is incredible. (Ignore King Ralph. That wasn't his fault.) :) Long live Goodman! Huzzah!... And long live this blue wampa, too... God Bless Pixar...each and every one of them...

    Looks good...

    by dlhstar

Sadly, I was hoping for something just a little more twisted (along the lines of Burton-esque designs) Anyway, I have always had John Goodman voice in mind for one CG character, and that would be BEN "The ever-lovin' Thing" GRIMM. While F4 is low on my list of titles that should get films, you can just close your eyes and imagine John shouting, "It's clobberin' time!" or, "Hey, Stretch, how the heck do you turn off this 'Ultimate Nullifer' thingie?"

i just got back from pixar, and i happened to sneak some looks at the (i believe it was 5) main monsters, and i just have to say they all looked as cool as this guy!!! i cant really describe them in detail cause the guy giving me and my mom the tour sorta rushed us through...but they were cool....and around the building i saw sketches and a few screen shots on the screens of the animators. (one with a dark haired girl peeking her eyes out of the covers). It all looked great
