Hey guys! Horrorella here...
WWE films has released a trailer (via EW) for LEPRECHAUN: ORIGINS, in which they will be attempting to revive one of the cult franchises from many of our childhoods. The film will follow a group of vacationers, hiking through the Irish countryside, only to happen upon one of the darker parts of the country’s folklore.
This time around, the evil leprechaun will be played by WWE Star Dylan “Hornswoggle” Postl. The character was previously made famous in earlier films by Warwick Davis. Unfortunately, this trailer is focusing more on the set-up of the film, and is holding back any images or footage of Postl's Leprechaun himself.
Until now, much of the series has carried a strong comedic component, but that looks to be changing, as this trailer seems to be playing it totally straight.
The film co-stars Brendan Fletcher (Freddy vs Jason), Stephanie Bennett (Grave Encounters 2), Andrew Dunbar (Alien Trespass), Melissa Roxburgh (Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days) and ,
LEPRECHAUN: ORIGINS hits VOD on August 26th, and will be available on Blu-ray on September 30th.
What do you think, LEPRECHAUN fans? Are you into this?
