“Murder in the First” means the same thing as “Murder One,” which was Steven Bochco’s 1995 ABC series that followed a single case over the course of a season.

NBC’s “American Ninja Warrior” was the number-one show in the key 18-49 demo last Monday.
Close behind was “24,” which tied for the number-two position and rebounded nicely from its season-low Memorial-Day outing. It’s certainly doing far, far better than Sutherland’s last Fox series “Touch.” So perhaps the current season won’t be its last?
