A look at MONSTERS INC!!!!

Published at:  Aug 23, 2000 1:23:57 AM CDT

Hey folks Harry here with a look at MONSTERS, INC. the new film from Pixar due out fall 2001 (amongst Harry Potter, Spider-Man and LORD OF THE RINGS). Billy Blastoff sent the image, but I do not know from whence he retreived it... if you know... by all means let me know. As it is... looks pretty snazzy... This comes from the trailer that will be on the 3 Disc TOY STORY DVD as our special preview to their latest opus... Enjoy...

USA Today was the apparent original source for the above picture.

    Help. Brain turning into jell-o!

    by artobot

Here we go. Another "cutesy" movie from Disney. When I hear the name "Monsters Inc." I think monster's like goblins, zombies, vampires, wolfmen, seacreatures and other slimey twelve-eyed creatures. The furry guy is cool (could be a little more monster-ish) but stupid one-eyed chew toy reject is just going to far. Come on Pixar, I know you can do better!

    ...by the way, Billy Blastoff

Thanks for sending the pic. I've been waiting over two years to see anything about this movie. I love old b-horror movies. I hope the "Know-all" exects at Disney don't destroy the genre.

It's all good and a box of $125 chocolates from Caesar's Palace

    by fiction blue

I've become stubborn about kids movies now days. I can't bring myself to watch Stewart Little and the sort...Pixar is the only thing keeping in touch with the bastard kid inside me...it brings a chocolaty smile to my face to see that pretty little shot.

I just hope they completely crucify Pok

HARREEEEEEY!!! WHAT ABOUT "FOR THE BIRDS"????????

    by half vader

Dammit - PIXAR have released another short and I can't find anything on the net about it except for the VFX Pro article. It's called 'For the Birds' and premiered at Siggraph. It's directed by Ralph Eggleston, a name which should be familiar to Pixarphiles.

Speaking of which, Artobot - These are NOT 'Disney' Films. The only thing Disney do is make a ton of money as distributor and merchandise-er (?). Although that twit Tomas Schumacher would like you to believe they're intimately cratively involved, they're not.
Geez, how much longer 'til people get it?

As for Harry at the toilet, THAT'S NOT RIIIGGGGGHHHHTT!

    Pixar Fucking Rule!

    by adam1428

Pixar are one of the few companies out there these days that really understand how to make an animated movie. Disney should just become 100% distribution and leave the real storytelling to pixar.

I don't know if anyone else noticed this...

    by ghostjax

Those monsters bear a disturbing structural similarity to an old Claymation show that used to be on (maybe still is) called Bump in the Night. I think the show was even a Disney production. It's not perfect, but it is a smaller green guy with most of his body taken up by an enourmous eye, and a larger, bulkier blue guy with sort of a droopy, frowny face. I'm just saying they look a lot alike.

    Harry Head: Revealed!!!!

    by kevsnyde

Ahhh... I believe that is Harry doing his best cartoon impression of Haley Joel Osmet in the Sixth Sense.

Scary, yet hilarious! Harry Heads rule! Somebody should start a Harry Head fan page.

  • If you want a better look at these "monsters" ,Time's August 28 issue has what seems to be the same figures without the background. Page 71, if you just want a glance at a newstand. It's much clearer than U.S.A. Today's color printing. It doesn't seem to be on Time's website yet.

the names have apple founders link?

    by patrickhurt

Do the names of the monsters remind you of the two famous founders of Apple Computer? Mike Wzowski is close to Steve Wozniak and James P. Sullivan are the initals of Steven P Jobs backwards. Just something I noticed and would be kinda funny if that was a play on Pixar CEO Steve Jobs.

No! No! The Harry Head is from Prisoner!

    by drasaid

You all have obviously been wasting your time differently than I waste mine. The Harry Head is obviously from the entry sequence to that good old mondo bizarro BBC miniseries (only nine were made) THE PRISONER. Remember the big, white ball, Rover? Scared me. Still does.

    Harry Head

    by kevsnyde

Come on! That is obviously from Sixth Sense! The peeing, Spooky dead chick wearing a robe, the cold breath. What more do you need? A red door knob? I don't know about you, but when I look at that Harry Head, I see dead people.

By the way, my other favorite H.H. was the 2001 one. Where he gets ripped apart by the pod. I laughed out loud.
