DJANGO
UNCHAINED:
THE SERIES??

I am – Hercules!!

Apparently there’s enough footage on Quentin Tarantino’s cutting-room floor that QT felt comfortable telling his Friday audience at the Cannes Film Festival that he wants to transform “Django Unchained” (the best movie of 2012 if you’re asking me) into a four-hour miniseries.

Four hours without commericals.

"I have about 90 minutes worth of material with Django," the genius writer-director told the crowd. "It hasn't been seen.”

"But I wouldn't show it like a four hour movie. I would cut it up into hour chapters. Like a four-part mini-series. And show it on cable television. Show it like an hour at a time, each chapter."

The theatrical version ran three hours, which suggests Tarantino wants to create the Django mini for a *pay* cable outlet like HBO, Showtime, Starz or Epix.

And I guess the two-part “Kill Bill” convinced him that the small screen is where the supersized Django belongs.

"People roll their eyes at a four-hour movie. But a four-hour mini-series that they like, then they are dying to watch all four parts. That's how I thought it could work."
