TWO FAMILY HOUSE online trailer premiere!

Published at:  Aug 22, 2000 2:57:48 AM CDT

Greetings, citizens! ROBOGEEK with an exclusive AICN online trailer premiere!

Faithful readers will no doubt recall that Raymond DeFelitta's Two Family House won the Audience Award at Sundance earlier this year for Best Dramatic Film, after being first touted by none other than our very own Head Geek in his review of it prior to the fest (which you can read at http://aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=4993). But the accolades didn't stop there, as glowing reviews were also written by Joe Leydon in Variety and Duane Byrge in the Hollywood Reporter. In fact, if you never got around to reading these reviews, click on those links and check 'em out. (And if you've seen the film yourself, please share your thoughts below in Talk Back.)

Anyway, many moons have passed since Sundance, and some of you might have been wondering when (and if) you were ever going to get to see it. Well, thankfully, the film is about to get a theatrical release, thanks to the good folks at Lions Gate. Two Family House will open in New York and L.A. on October 6, and then expand its release in successive weeks (during which time it's rumored to be coming to the Austin Film Festival).

This is one of those little-movies-that-could, one of those underdog stories you root for, and the kind of film we here at AICN love discovering and spreading the word about. In that spirit, we were honored to be given the chance to debut the trailer online, which we offer to you below in QuickTime format (and three sizes/resolutions).

P.S.: Huge thanks to our tireless webmaster for digitizing the trailer, to Apple for hosting it, and to Lions Gate for providing it -- and releasing the film, which I'm so looking forward to finally seeing! (Kelly MacDonald. 'Nuff said.)

    Is it me . . .

Or could I care less about this film. That was one of the most poorly cut trailers I have ever seen. If they hope to garner some attention by screening that particular preview, they might as well just burn the negative of the film. Holy shamolians!

    "Is it me...' part II

    by citizenlazlo

Is it me....or maybe Damien 666 ("whatever") would prefer say a trailer for a movie like, hmm, Deuce Bigelow? I, Citizen Lazlo, thoroughly enjoyed the trailer as well as the movie which I saw @ Sundance. I think the trailer compliments the movie and I encourage you viewers to go see it.

The Trailer for "Two Family House" was really quite lovely. It was funny, and warm - warm not only in tone, but in color: the whole trailer seemed to live inside the magic hour. Nice, upbeat music, and snappy editing. Good job to whoever put this one together. I'll go see this film in a second. Congrats, Lions Gate!

Looks like a good old-fashioned character-driven movie. No glib hollywood dialogue, no 100-foot digital waves or explosions. Can't wait to see it.

Kudos to Lion's Gate for launching another provocative, character-driven film. Incidentally, nice trailor (it inspires viewership without giving the whole story away)!
