Hey guys! Horrorella here...
Judith Viorst's Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day was a staple of my childhood library – as it was for a lot of people. The story of one little boy and the day where everything goes wrong teaches kids the important lesson of sometimes life just sucks. Bad shit will just happen for no reason at all, and you’ll get through it. It’s an important lesson, even if it’s one that doesn’t always stick, as we will always find ourselves wondering “Why me?” the next time we have a shit day.
Disney has been working on an adaptation of the story, and the first official trailer has been released. Like many similar adaptations, Alexander's story had to be built out a bit to hit feature-length run-time, so his family gets sucked into his crap day with him. Which is probably good, since at least now, he won't be suffering alone. The film also looks to be adding in the message of family support as these characters attempt to slog though the comedy-infused misery together.
The film stars Steve Carell, Jennifer Garner, Ed Oxenbould, Dylan Minnette, Bella Thorne and Megan Mullally, and is set to hit theaters October 10th.
