Trailer for DON'T LOOK IN THE BASEMENT 2!

Hey guys! Horrorella here...

A sequel to S. F. Brownrigg's  1973 cult horror film DON'T LOOK IN THE BASEMENT has been quietly filming, and now has a trailer!

The pic will pick up the story of Sam after the end of the first film, 40 years later. After Sam is moved to a new asylum in 2013, strange things begin happening there to the patients as well as the doctors. One doctor must find out what’s causing everyone go delve even deeper into insanity before it overcomes him as well.

The original film was largely released on the drive-in circuit, often on a double-bill alongside Wes Craven's LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT. No doubt, this pairing led to a very unsettling night. It's violent nature even landed it in hot water with the British Government, and it was placed on the infamous Video Nasties list.

The trailer for the sequel is looking pretty solid, with an intriguing set-up and some pretty horrific imagery.  It was directed by Brownrigg's son, Anthony Brownrigg, from a script that he co-wrote with Megan Emerick.

The film stars Andrew Sensenig, Frank Mosley, Arianne Margot, Willie Minor, Jr, Camilla Carr, and Megan Emerick. No release date has been announced yet, but it is expected to open sometime this fall.

What do you guys think? Fans of the original - are you excited to see the story continue?
