Notes on tonight’s first “24” since 2010:
* There is no “Live Another Day” in the opening titles.
* Though they are cramming 24 hours of Jack Bauer’s life into 12 hours of this miniseries, the second hour picks up exactly where the first hour ends. So far it just feels like the ninth season of “24.”
* Jack Bauer, never exactly Mr. Loquacious anyway, doesn’t say a word until about minute 45.
* I like the new character played by Yvonne Strahovski (“Chuck”) as the smartest CIA analyst in London.
Notes on tonight’s first “Louie” since 2012:
This is a much funnier episode than the last one, shot in Asia.
The title of the episode is “Back,” because 1) “Louie” is back and 2) it’s about Louie’s spine.
This is a highly vibrator-centric installment.
Guest stars include comedians Sarah Silverman, Todd Barry, Nick DiPaulo and Jim Norton, and the great Charles Grodin without a hairpiece.
The title sequence featuring Hot Chocolate’s “Brother Louie” and CK making his way through New York appears to have been eliminated this season.
