OSMOSIS JONES poster and site online

Published at:  Aug 16, 2000 1:30:15 AM CDT

Hey folks, Harry here... The Flash sent this before he sent it, amazingly fast that chap... Well, it's the poster image for OSMOSIS JONES... The seemingly last huzzah of Warner Brothers Feature Animation. If it performs really well (and if it's marketed) then we might see future films from Warner Brothers Animation... Also... it should be noted that the Farrelly Brothers have apparently finished with the live action shooting of this film... and that the word is... Bill Murray's children in this sequence will steal every scene they are in. Word has it... they are great. Here's what the Flash had to say....

Geeks At Large,

Warner Bros. has kindly posted the poster for their upcoming animated
fare, Osmosis Jones. You can check it out at OsmosisJones.Com,
unfortunately there's no trailer yet, just the poster. I'm hoping for two
things, that Osmosis Jones will dispense nice, fun packages of animated
action and that Warner Bros. will market this one better than The Iron Giant.
Back to fightin' crime...

    The poster looks cool.

Isn't this that movie that's kinda like "Fantastic Voyage?" The poster looks interesting, kinda retro. Like "Iron Giant." I hope that this movie doesn't suffer the same fate. "Iron Giant" is probably the best movie nobody saw in the last five years. I had a helluva time convincing anyone I know to see it. They all thought it looked like a kiddie film so they passed. I finally had to buy the video and take it over and force my brother and sister to watch it. They agreed with me afterward about how great it was.

I like the look...the live action scenes star Bill Murray, too. I might just like this one. I hope it turns out as well as Iron Giant. That was a real gem.

    STEVE PILCHER IS GOD!!!!!!

    by irie

...and for those of you who DON'T know who Steve Pilcher is, he is the fellow who designed this film. Brilliant beyond belief, and humble to a fault (not to mention, allergic to potatoes), this guy is the house designer at Warners--a guy who's ability to not only design from the heart, but roll with the punches, is at once admirable, and again astonishing (especially considering Warners indifference or knowledge of his contribution). GREAT WORK STEVIE BOY!

    FIRST IMPRESSION...

    by iamgladiator

This poster looks like shit.. I'm sorry, but I was so hyped about this movie before seeing this poster, but now, if the animation is the quality of this poster, than this movie will fail. This does not bode well if the animation isn't superb. I look at the Titan A.E. poster, and then look at this, and I'm not very impressed. Those drawings are too damn simple. The Titan A.E. poster and movie had some of the most beautiful images I've seen, and that failed miserably. And now we get this poster that looks like a T.V. Guide ad for a Saturday morning cartoon. Oh well, there's always Trey Parker and Matt Stone for wonderful animation other than Diznee..

    Have We Learned Our Lesson?

    by artist4hire

    Dear Readers:

Osmosis Jones, I'm happy to say, is looking fantastic! The designs kick ass, the color styling and effects are awesome, and the film, for the most part, has the potential to be very good. And with the Farrely's and Bill Murray (and the damn monkeys), it's hard to see this film fail.

However, I'm still VERY skeptical. I've been onboard now for a couple of films now and each one, specifically the last film, "The Iron "Giant," failed NOT because of content but because of the poor (to almost non-existant) promotion!

It's sad, and I see it happening again. The Osmosis Jones site, in fact, just barely put up that picture a few days ago, and there's yet to be anything else like a trailer, some more artwork, whatever! Meanwhile, other movies have up-and-running sites, movies that are slated to come out EVEN LATER IN 2001 THAN Osmosis Jones! What's up with that?! I mean, I know Harry Potter's a for sure thing, but man! Have some faith in our film, people!!!

I's funny. I don't think they understand animation yet. The immense creativity in the artists, the effective, strategic promotion needed for these things to succeed in the box office, nothing.

It's about commitment. Commitment and faith in their brilliant feature animation team. Warners could have another good film in their hands and an early, well-designed advertising campaing and good promotion is essential. It'a also critical that the film be marketed with a broader audience in mind---not children! Hopefully with the Farrely's on board, it will be easier but again, it IS Warners!

Anyway, off my soap box and on my way to a more positive outlook on this film and in life in general, I bid good luck to everyone involved with Ozzy, and I pray that the lot doesn't fumble yet another one! Please... not again.

    Hungry for more,
